Zentai Art Exhibition: Invisible Whole 3
Zentai Walk

Zentai Artists walking along Orchard Road

Japan Creative Centre, Embassy of Japan had organised a Zentai Walk with 48 people wearing the Zentai suits on 23rd May 2015. This walk led by Ms Yuzuru Maeda started from Japan Creative Centre and the participants walked along Orchard road till Paragon and back to JCC.  This 1.2km walk created a wave at orchard on that day as many members of the public interacted and took photos with the participants.

This Zentai culture has been emerging slowly and Ms Maeda has been striving hard to promote and share its experiences with everyone. Zentai is  the short form  for zenshin taitsu (full body tights), referring to the garments worn by the partcipants. Zentai was invented  in Japan in the 1980s by Japanese photographer Marcy Anarchy.

This is the third time that this zentai festival has been organised in Singapore with the support form LaSalle students. Ms Maeda added that "I want people to question who we are, and discover how we can relate to each other."By (concealing) our faces, our hair, our looks, we can easily find more similarities instead of looking at our differences." -
